A three-strength range should be built around verified caffeine per pouch—not vague names such as mild, regular and strong. Those names can support navigation, but milligrams carry the technical meaning.
Theoretical extract calculations
At an exact 20.0% caffeine assay, a 20 mg target requires 100 mg extract, a 40 mg target requires 200 mg, and a 60 mg target requires 300 mg. The actual production calculation uses the lot-specific assay. At 20.8%, for example, less extract is required to provide the same theoretical caffeine.

Keep pouch geometry consistent where possible
Increasing extract inclusion can change color, bitterness, density, moisture demand and release. A higher strength should not become a visibly larger or harder pouch by accident. Adjust carrier and flavor carefully while maintaining the approved dimensions and seal performance.
Uniformity becomes more important, not less
Low-dose formulas can be sensitive to segregation; high-dose formulas make an upper outlier more consequential. Validate pre-blending, mixing, hopper behavior and fill control for every strength. Do not qualify the whole range from one SKU.
Name strengths without encouraging escalation
Use explicit caffeine per pouch on the front or primary information area where appropriate. Avoid names such as extreme or maximum that frame higher intake as achievement. Include pouches per can and total caffeine context.
Test each finished product
Raw-material COA, theoretical calculation and average batch result are not enough. Finished-pouch assay and a justified uniformity plan confirm that individual units remain within specification through shelf life.
